Say you’re worried about being rolled in the mean streets, see? If you feel you might need to wear iron to keep the redhots at bay, then the new Heritage Roscoe will throw lead and make you look like the a private dick while you’re at it.
Errr, we can the film noir-speak behind, but that’s what the Heritage Roscoe is—a double-action revolver that comes in two versions. The first, with a three-inch barrel, looks just like a highway patrolman’s revolver from the post-war U.S., as seen below. The second, with a two-inch barrel, looks just like the handguns that detectives used in classic film noir from the 1940s and 1950s, as well as newer films set in that era (check out the revolvers that the LAPD detectives were always waving around in L.A. Confidential or Chinatown and so on). Back in those days, hard-boiled crime writers called a handgun a roscoe—now you know where Heritage got the inspiration for the name.

Both versions of the revolver are chambered only in .38 Special +P and are only available with blued metal and checkered rosewood grips. That ramp front sight is non-adjustable. The ejector has no shroud, and the cylinder is fluted. It’s an all-steel revolver that looks like the real old-school deal.
