Working as you travel isn’t a new concept by any stretch of the imagination, but thanks to modern technology, more people are working on the go. It’s often a very effective way to manage time, with significant flexibility and the potential for acheiving greater efficiency.
However, this only works if you stay organized, and streamlining your mobile office is essential. A chaotic mobile office can lead to stress and inefficiency. Enter the 221B Tactical Harlej Bag.
Designed for tactical and law enforcement professionals, this organizational tool is a game-changer. As the company states, “The Harlej molle car seat organizer bag will instantly become one of the greatest assets in your Police patrol vehicle and the best bag you’ve ever owned for your pickup truck.”

A quick disclaimer: Although I am reviewing this bag, I am not a law enforcement officer or first responder. I am, however, an editor in the world of first responders, law enforcement, Second Amendment advocates, and otherwise tactical individuals. My thoughts on this bag are in that capacity. I believe many of my colleages would appreciate the benefits that this bag has to offer.
My personal mobile office may include a trip to the shooting range with some buddies, so along with my laptop, pens, and other office essentials, I may also include lunch in a thermos, cleaning wipes, and other such items.

Note: the Harlej bag was named in honor of K9 Harlej, who served with the Fishers (Indiana) Police Department for over four years. On November 13, 2019, Harlej was shot and killed in the line of duty. A portion of proceeds of every bag sold goes toward the purchase of K9 body armor for those in need of a ballistic K9 vest.
First Impressions
When mine came in the mail, I was initially impressed with the multitude of pockets. Obviously, this bag was designed for optimum functionality. There are pockets for everything from your laptop to PPE and two large containers of water. It even has a pocket with a plastic window for an ID.
The construction is high quality. This is Heavy Duty 1200 Denier construction. Denier is a unit of measurement used to determind the thickness and weight of individual thread. The higher the denier, the thicker the thread. Denier fabrics are also lightweight, mosture-wicking, and quick-drying, which are perfect qualities for a bag of this nature that will see frequent use, possibly in all kinds of conditions.
As for the functionality, the Harlej bag has all kinds of hardware and attachment points. The side water pouches are covered in laser-cut MOLLE, and one of the front pockets is covered in PALS webbing.
And finally, the bag looks professional and streamlined. At just one glance, I knew that this bag was designed for the duty professional.
I honestly can’t do a better job of describing the bag than the creator does in the video below. Every pocket, layer, strap, and zipper is a specific purpose-driven design feature chosen to best meet the demands of the intended user.
Take ten minutes to watch this video and you’ll see what I mean.
Functionality
The compartments and pockets have ample room for storing your necessary gear. From the large central compartment to the smaller pockets and crevices, the bag secures your supplies in an organized fashion. Each compartment, slot, and pocket can be used as a dedicated space for all of your essentials. A hidden front storage pocket is behind the two front pockets.
The large central compartment has smaller pockets on the front and back, with clips for additional security to keep your gear in place during sudden stops and turns. The two side pockets are deep enough for extra-large bottles of water or a large Yeti jug.
The front compartment has an especially nice feature, as not only does it contain your laptop, but the drop-down panel can be unclipped to lower it down for a flat platform for even greater access to the interior. This compartment also has two large strips of velcro, so a velcro-backed holster would work well here.
To secure the bag in place, the top strap goes around the headrest and the back strap is long enough to go around the seat to keep the bag secured to the seat and prevent sagging. The bag is well-balanced, and both straps are adjustable for a secure fit to the seat of your vehicle.
Pros and Cons
The 221B Tactical Harlej bag proves quite useful as a mobile office space. With over 15 pockets and compartments, there’s a place for everything you need. It’s easy to secure to your seat, and it’s easy to remove should you need to place it in another vehicle.
I honestly can’t think of any drawbacks to this bag. At times you may need to remove from your seat and put it in the trunk because you need the seating for other passengers, but the bag is sturdy enough with well-placed clips that everything will stay organized.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I think this bag is well worth the small investment. Considering the end-user that this bag was primarily designed for — law enforcement, first responders, and the like — streamlined organization of essential gear is a no brainer.
If you’re looking for a way to organize the chaos of your mobile office, I’d definitely recommend checking out the 221B Tactical Harlej organizer bag. You can’t go wrong.
