Firearms News SHOT Show 2022 Report: Rex Specs Tactical Eye-Wear Brand Ambassador and Philanthropist Juan ‘Johnny’ Rico

If you haven’t noticed, a new marketing term has oversaturated the advertising business to the bursting point … and that term is “Brand Ambassador.”

At face value, there’s nothing wrong with this new method of “getting your product out there,” but in today’s day and age of folks possessing easily chaffed hinders, tender sensibilities, and bruised egos, it leaves many of those poor souls with a sense of inadequacy and self-doubt. In short, there’s no shortage of potential (but jealous) customers out there thinking “What’s so special about that Gold Medal Triathlete? I can pizza/French fry better than the average nine-year-old on the bunny slope and shoot a .22 as well as the next guy/gal” or “They chose a twenty-year Naval Special Warfare vet that made one good shot from the fantail of a boat at night time? Pshhaw … I could have joined the military and done that too if they would have let me keep smoking the Devil’s Cabbage, given me a waiver for those stupid PT tests, and I hadn’t scored a 14 on my ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) test.”

Rikk Rambo and “Johnny”.

Well, I’m happy to introduce a brand ambassador that everyone can get behind (which is probably a good idea, considering he is a bomb-dog) and celebrate without getting “mutt-hurt”: Juan “Johnny” Rico!

“Johnny” Rico (not affiliated with the soft, pretty boy ‘Johnny Rico’ of Starship Troopers fame) is a seven-year-old Belgian Malinois sporting ‘Rex Specs’ (at least that’s what I believe he was wearing … his schedule was too busy to take any questions). He travels the U.S. promoting U.S. exceptionalism, basic and advanced ‘good boy-ism’ and a cause everyone should respect … Train Our Troops. Train Our Troops is a non-profit that provides online training and certification in business solutions for veterans entering or preparing to return to civilian life. This programs gives veterans the ability to successfully enter and excel in civilian business careers.

So raise a glass to Master Rico … brand ambassador and all-around lady’s man!

If you’re interested in tough protective eyewear for your best friend or would like to take a closer look at Juan Rico’s charity, they may be found at: RexSpecs.com/collections/working-military and TrainOurTroops.org.
