Beretta's $629 APX A1 Ported vents gas through barrel and slide

Beretta's APX A1 Ported pairs a single angled barrel port with seven ports in the slide, sending gas upward to help control felt recoil. Tactical Retailer's product profile lists it at $629.

Key points

• Controls: An enlarged magazine release and an ambidextrous slide release, both configurable for right- or left-handed shooters.
• Optics: The optics-ready slide takes many popular red dots with the right mounting plate, and deep serrations help with manipulation.
• Coating: Beretta's Aquatech Shield finish adds resistance to corrosion and chemicals.
• Options: Offered in FDE and OD Green, and ships with three magazines.

Quick take

The profile covers features rather than shooting results, so the recoil claim is the maker's until someone puts it on a timer. At $629 with three magazines and an optics-ready slide, it gives shooters curious about ported pistols a factory option to look at.
